Bertrand Stofleth, finalist
Born in 1978 in France.
“Rhodanie” is a photographic series on riverside landscapes representing the different modes of inhabitation and development of these territories. Bertrand Stofleth followed the length of the Rhône between 2007 and 2014, for more than 850 km from its source on the glacier in Switzerland to its mouth in the Mediterranean Sea. He took particular pains to reveal the identy of the shore, by methodically following the course of the river and its surroundings.  He constructed a dialogue between the fluvial landscape and boundary area that edges it.  There he emphasized the forms of occupation and installations.
